Let It Go. To hold a grudge is to maintain an intense connection with someone you might not want to have a relationship with in the first place.

Simple five step plan for just about everyone and everything

The number of people you need to ask for permission keeps going down:
    1. Go, make something happen.

    2. Do work you’re proud of.

    3. Treat people with respect.

    4. Make big promises and keep them.

    5. Ship it out the door.
    When in doubt, see #1.

Did you know that one of its proudest landmarks, the 67-year-old cantilever bridge that spans the Hooghly river is reportedly under threat… from saliva? More than 100,000 vehicles and millions of pedestrians use the bridge every day. Commuters walk on a deserted Howrah Bridge during a 12-hour general strike in Calcutta, India, Tuesday, April 27, 2010.

The latter seem to be the culprits. “[The] commuters’ collective spit power has reduced the thickness of steel hoods protecting the [bridge's] pillars from six to three millimetres since 2007,” a newspaper reports. The tobacco-laced spit, according to a “forensic sciences expert” interviewed by the paper, contains “slaked lime combined with catechu and tannin [that] form an organic compound that acts as a corrosive agent on a steel surface”.

Another example of why Air India, a company led by management midgets, is getting ready for the next mishap.

Criticised about its way of functioning, Air India has done what it is best known to do when faced with a crisis — gag its employees.

In an internal notification issued on Monday — a copy of which is with HT — employees have been warned of action if they air their views to the media. Such statements, the AI order says, could harm the “company’s image” and “revenue earning prospects”.

The order comes a day after YV Raju, general secretary of AI’s All-India Aircraft Engineers Association, told HT the national carrier, just hours after the Mangalore crash, broke all safety norms by getting an unqualified engineer to certify its Airbus aircraft.

AI employees told HT on condition of anonymity this was an attempt by the company to restrict their “right to speech”.
“At a time when the company should be focussing on Mangalore, it is trying to stifle our voice. This won’t work. There are registered trade unions in AI, recognised by the company itself,” an AI official said.

The notification states that instances have come to notice that contrary to previous orders, “certain employees… are freely airing their views in the media despite channels of communication existing within the company to voice their grievances”.
